Dirt Bike Repair Lakeland, FL

Some of the services we offer are just what you’d expect for your dirt bike: tires, brakes, chain and sprocket sets, suspension rebuild and repair, fuel system flush, and coolant system repair. You name it, we can get it done.

Older dirt bikes usually come in two classes: the ripping, lightweight two-strokes, and the grunty, do-it-all four-strokes. In either case, I've got it covered. However, some of these bikes, especially on the two-stroke side, may need to be repaired with more modern replacement aftermarket parts because the manufacturers pretty much dissolved responsibility for these bikes as they aged out and the EPA reared its nasty head against them.

Most of the older four-strokes are much easier to find parts for, as many of these engines were simply rehashed in Chinese factories and continue today under other names. The longevity of the four-stroke engine also means that aftermarket suppliers want to take advantage of a continued demand. So, the four-stroke bikes do have a bit of an advantage when it comes time to repair.

Newer dirt bikes tend to get ridden hard and put away wet. You’ll need service and repair, so we’ve got your back here. Whether it’s a pee-wee 50 or rooster tailin’ 400, we got you covered. Please, though, I do expect as a minimum that your bike is well cleaned before it's brought in. Aside from the extra time spent that I would have to charge for, it just makes a mess of the shop space to have dried mud, leaves, and other debris dropping off your bike.

Carb work is pretty common for dirt bikes. It doesn’t matter if it's an old Keihin single cable, Mikuni VM, or even a newer flat side. I can handle them. Beware, though. A lot of the carb issues start at the tank. Sometimes when slogging a bike, we don’t even realize that it may be ingesting moisture and crud. Leaving it outside or in an open side building also allows a lot of condensation to form inside the tank. When I do carb work, I have to look at the entire system to ensure my work is going to hold up.

Tires, brakes, and chain/sprocket sets are very common wear and tear items on dirt bikes for obvious reasons. I can usually get this type of work done pretty quickly. It does not bother me in the least if you want to provide the parts. I get it, you want it done for this weekend, so it speeds up the process.

Suspension work is never a problem on dirt bikes. Forks and shocks almost fall off these bikes being so easy to access as they are. If we work on your suspension for whatever reason, we can either provide OEM replacement parts or go directly to suspension upgrades to fit your riding style and weight.

Engine work is usually broken down into service: oil change, tune-up, filter replacements, etc. These can usually get turned around pretty quickly. Repair: cam chains getting sloppy, fuel delivery problems like fuel pumps for EFI bikes, leaking cooling systems, clutch replacement, and so on. These take a little longer but also get turned around pretty quickly. Major repair: Transmission repair where the cases must be split, bottom-end engine rebuild, and major internal engine failure. Expect longer wait times for these jobs as I do a very thorough analysis of the entire engine and its components to ensure that an outlying factor did not contribute to the failure.

Back to old school dirt bikes. A lot of guys grew up on bikes like the XL’s, DT’s, and many of the other cool early Japanese and even European small dirt bikes: Italjet, Aermacchi, BSA, Montessa, etc., or maybe even a cool Rupp, Cushman, Arctic Cat, or Z50. These bikes may or may not be survivors. If you need a bike like this brought back to life, you’ve just found the right shop.
